Lamar Odom’s really bad week just got a little worse. The out-of-work b-baller was arrested in Los Angeles early Friday morning on a charge of suspicion of driving under the influence.
The 235 lbs., 6’10″ NBA pro was pulled over in the San Fernando Valley around 3:54 a.m. by the California Highway Patrol (CHP). According to police officials, the husband of reality socialite Khloe Kardashian was taken into custody after being pulled over for driving on the 101 Freeway in a “serpentine manner” and weaving his Mercedes SUV in and out of lanes.
Police say Odom was unable to perform a field sobriety test. He then refused to take a chemical test, which under California law results in an automatic one-year suspension of his driver’s license. Leland Tang, a CHP spokesman, explains:
“Once you say no you automatically lose your license. No judge or attorney needed. People think you can do that, but you can’t refuse a chemical test without consequences.”
This news comes after numerous claims that Odom, 34, and his wife Khloe, 29, are having marital problems related to the hoopster’s reported infidelity and alleged addiction to crack cocaine.
