Lady Gaga Ziplines Onto “Good Morning America” Stage To Kick-Off Concert Series:
Lady Gaga made a surprise entrance on Good Morning America Friday; the “Born This Way” hitmaker ziplined onstage at Central Park this morning, kicking off the breakfast show’s 2011 Summer Concert Series. Wearing a long, bright red wig and a red and white costume, the outlandish songstress wowed a record-setting number of screaming “Little Monsters” with a sizzling live set that included numbers like “Bad Romance,” “Hair,” and “Born This Way,” the title track from her titanic new album.
Born This Way has sold nearly 800,000 copies and topped iTunes and Billboard music charts since its release on May 23.
“I love my fans so much. Thank you for coming out today,” Gaga said to ecstatic audience members, many who had been camped out in the park “for a couple of days,” according to GMA host Robin Roberts.
“It’s an absolute dream come true to be here today to pay in Central Park,” Gaga added. “I grew up five blocks from here. I’m so blessed and happy to be here.”
She took a few fan questions, including one that asked her what she likes to do when she takes a day off from writing and performing.
“I would really like to hang out with my fans and have it not be me. I’d just be one of them.”
