Lady Gaga has been branded slut by a clan of religious zealots known for picketing the funerals of fallen soldiers and vocally-opposing rights for gays and lesbians.

A press release issued by the Kansas-based Westboro Baptist Church, led by the Reverend Fred Phelps, claims the “Poker Face” hitmaker is “going to Hell” for allegedly leading a “rebellion against God.” The controversial organization intends to picket Gaga’s upcoming concert at the Fox Theatre in Missouri on Jan. 7.

“Her claim to the title of ‘Lady’ is sound only if she tacks on ‘of the night.’ Does the simple slut truly think she can change God’s standards by seducing a generation of rebels into joining her in fist-raised, stiff-necked, hard-hearted rebellion against Him? Get real!”

Some Gaga fans believe Westboro may have targeted the Grammy-nominated star after she delivered a memorable speech at the National Equality March — a large rally for gay and lesbian rights that took place in Washington earlier this year. The pop singer ended her speech with the phrase “Bless God and bless the gays.”
