Lady Gaga has been crowned MTV News’ Woman of the Year. The “Poker Face” charttopper successfully bested fellow songstresses Taylor Swift, Britney Spears, and Beyonce to earn the title from the network’s flagship news program on Friday.

“There’s no one who challenged, provoked, entertained and, well, titillated us over the past 12 months quite like she has.” MTV News said of the eccentric pop icon, who staged her own death at the VMA and smashed the stage at the AMAs months later. Gaga also got a nod from President Obama, who said before she performed at the Human Rights Campaign dinner in October: “It’s a privilege to be here tonight to open for Lady Gaga. I’ve made it!”
