The Royal Variety Performance, which is held annually, features a wide range of artists from all aspects of entertainment. The Queen was entertained by some of the world’s top talent at the Royal Variety Performance, with pop singer Lady Gaga, 23, closing the show.

The eccentric star is known as much for her bizarre fashion choices as her catching pop diddley, but opted to tone down her usually controverial style for the show; selecting a red leather Elizabethan-inspired dress for her performance at the star-studded event.

Gaga arrived on stage wearing the flamboyant dress with a 20ft long red train and giant neck ruffle. She topped off her look with huge circles of red eye make-up, for a panda-style look.

“Good evening Blackpool. Let me hear you rattle your jewelry,” she said.

The singer, who is up for three Grammys for her smash single “Poker Face,” performed “Speechless” – a passionate piece she penned for her beloved dad Joseph.

Gaga later had the distinction of shaking hands with Her Majesty herself. Naturally, the New Yorker took a little bow. Teen star Miley Cyrus, comedienne Whoopi Goldberg and R&B legend Chaka Khan were also among tonight’s entertainment.
