La Toya Jackson Will Not Compete On “Dancing With The Stars”
At least one celeb won’t be joining the 16 new contestants lacing up their dancing shoes for the ninth season of Dancing With The Stars.
La Toya Jackson has denied a tabloid report claiming she has signed up to compete on the next installment of ABC’s ballroom reality series, returning September 21.
“I’ve been approached to do ‘Dancing With the Stars,’” La Toya told Access Hollywood correspondent Tony Potts on Thursday. “The fact of the matter is, I won’t be doing it, simply because of the circumstances that [are] going on at the moment.”
The singer and former Playboy centerfold says she’s still too distraught over the passing of her kid brother, music legend Michael Jackson, to think about doing reality TV. Michael passed away at his home in California on June 25. He was 50.
“I can’t see myself putting myself into there right now, dancing every single day when I’m still trying to find out what exactly happened to my brother,” La Toya told Tony. “That’s the most important thing for me at this very moment.”
At least one fan was hoping La Toya would be burning the floor on Dancing this fall — her mother, Katherine Jackson.
“I love that show. It’s not only one of my favorite shows, it’s my mother’s as well,” she explained. “They had on television that I was doing it, and she goes, ‘Oh honey! Is that going to be you?’ I go, ‘Mother, that’s just a rumor.’ She just perked up! We watch it together.”
The two-hour season premiere of DWTS airs Monday, September 21 @ 8PM on ABC.

It’s interesting that when Latoya does something fabulous there are no comments. But when she does something questionable the haters come out in droves. I love Latoya. She is one classy lady and it is beautiful that she is honoring her brother through charity. I hope we see more of her.
