Can you say Public Relations Nightmare?
Twilight fans, brace yourselves: The tabloid claims accusing Kristen Stewart of cheating on her co-star/boyfriend Robert Pattinson with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders are true.
Just hours after Us Weekly and People magazine reported that the 22-year-old screen star had been involved in an affair with a very married Sanders, 41, Kristen confirmed the gossip by publicly apologizing to her beau.
In a statement obtained by People, Stewart acknowledged that she had a brief affair with Sanders and extended an apology to Pattinson, 26.
“I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.”
The stink hit the fan when Us published photographs of Rupert and Kristen in the midst of a “marathon make out session”.People quoted a source claiming the two shared a “fleeting moment” of passion, but apparently that’s where the flame ended.
The snitch said:
“She wasn’t having an affair with Rupert. It was just a fleeting moment that shouldn’t have happened. She never meant to hurt anyone. She’s a good person who just made a bad choice. [She] is absolutely devastated. It was a mistake and a complete lapse in judgment.”
Rupert, also a dashing Brit, has been married for seven years to model Liberty Ross. The couple share two children, ages 7 and 5.
The actress has been dating British-born hunk Pattinson since they first met on the set of the first Twilight flick in 2008. For year, the twosome has flat out refused to discuss the deets of their romance. But just last week, they were photographed looking smitten at the annual Comic-Con Festival in California.
