The Kardashian Machine is barreling its way onto daytime TV. God save us…
Family matriarch Kris Jenner has inked a deal with Fox to front a long-rumored one-hour talk show for the network. The gabfest will debut in select cities, including New York and Los Angeles, this summer.
Jenner spearheaded her family’s rise to fame with the 2007 premiere of E!’s Keeping Up with the Kardashians. She couldn’t be more thrilled about this latest entertainment venture.
“This is something I have wanted to do all my life so it’s definitely a dream come true. I can’t wait for this new adventure to begin and look forward to working alongside 20th Television and the Fox Television Stations.”
The blogosphere has been ablaze with the dish that the famous momager was in chats to host her own daytime talk show since last fall. After making several guest appearances on CBS’ The Talk in 2011, Kris began needling 20th Television about getting a test run to air on Fox TV stations for weeks.
Looks like her persistence finally paid off.
The summer premiere is considered a test run and will be filmed from the Jenner-Kardashian homebase of Los Angeles. The gabber, produced by Twentieth Television, will feature “celebrity guests, fashion and beauty trends; plus a mix of lifestyle topics — all through the distinctive and unpredictable perspective of Kris Jenner,” 20th Television and FOX said in a release on Monday.
If you ask Stephen Brown, the company’s Executive Vice President of Development and Programming, Kris has “excellent qualities for a daytime talk show host.”
“…Kris is honest, compelling, entertaining, and unscripted – all excellent qualities for a daytime talk show host. The Fox Television Stations are the perfect partners for this talk show as they continue to have a successful track record of previewing hit, first-run syndicated programming on their stations.”
