Kris Allen Adam Lambert “American Idol” Finale Finalists
Kris Allen and Adam Lambert will face off for the title of the American Idol 2009 next week.
Spectacled singer Danny Gokey — who had never been in the Bottom Two or Three before his elimination –was voted off Idol on Wednesday night, leaving fan favorite Adam and Arkansas native Kris to battle it out on this year’s A.I. finale.
Paula Abdul choked back tears as Danny sang a very emotional version of Joe Cocker’s “You Are So Beautiful.”
More than 88 million votes were cast after Tuesday’s Top Three performances.

Which contestant received a standing ovation from Simon for the first time in A. I. history? Which contestant reveived a standing ovation from Smokey Robinson after he sang one of his songs? Has a guest star on idol ever displayed a contestant’s name on their stage clothing before their performance before last night? C’mon! Even the professionals believe Adam should win! He has incredible range (some call it screaming–I guess they never heard Steven Tyler); he wasn’t screaming when he sang Tracks of My Tears, Mad World, If I Can’t have You. Do yourself a favor and check him out on you.tube singing I Just Love You by Five for Fighting. Adam’s version is better! His pure and beautiful voice is so refreshing! And, yes, he can put on a show too! Didn’t Gwen Stefanie do that when she appeared on A.I. with No Doubt? I’ve read that Kris deserves to win because he is a nice role model. Is this the “gay thing”? Should Adam not succeed in life because he’s gay? Well, I guess we should have shunned Elton John, Freddie Mercury and Prince then, huh? Adam deserves to win American Idol. No one in the history of A.I. has caused such a stir-such excitement- such anticipation! He’s the clear choice.
