Kirsten Dunst has hit back at Blondie fans who claim she is not talented enough to play Debbie Harry.

The twenty-four-year-old star, who has been acting since she was eight, feels she has enough experience to play the feisty new wave frontwoman.

Dedicted fans of the band have swamped online chat forums bemoaning the casting of the Bring It On actress.

Fans of the “Heart Of Glass” singer feel that Kirsten doesn’t look like iconic Debbie and isn’t a tough enough character to play the role.

“Debbie chose me for this role so anyone who disputes this can take it up with her.”

“I’ll work hard on this character because she is the coolest woman of all time,” she added.

Instead of Dunst, have producers considered Elisha Cuthbert for the part of Debbie Harry. Cuthbert resembles Harry, although I am unsure of her singing abilities. Pass the word along, I believe Cuthbert would make a more convincing Harry.

What do you mean Elisha Cuthbert? Are you insane? They don’t look anything alike. For one thing, Elisha is darkly complected in the face and Debbie isn’t. Debbie has a heart shaped face and Elisha has this really rotund shape. They look nothing alike in the face. I don’t know where you come up with that reasoning. Maybe you’ve been drinking? Michelle Pfeiffer is a Debbie Harry clone. They both have the same complexions and they both have the same facil structure. They both are absolutely beautiful. As for that dog Elisha Cuthbert, who ever cared about her abilities? Anyway, I’m sure that Kirsten will do a phenomenal role emulating Debbie. She’ll be great and I’ll be the first person in line!

You’re right Watershed. That first comment was completely off. Cuthbert is talentless and really unresembles Debbie. I’m rooting for Kirsten too now that Debbie has made her choice. She’ll be great, I know she will!

Hello has anyone even thought of Gwen Stafani! First of all she even has said that debbie was her insperation to pursue her singing career. There is also Gina Gershon she’s tough like debbie so hey instead of casting onebodys like dunst, and what’s her face look at Stafani, and Gershon. Dunst can’t even act, she does look like debbie alittle but i don’t think she has the potencial talent to play the legendary Debbie Harry, even if she doesn’t get the part she should feel honored she was even considered for the role.
