Kim Kardashian’s pregnancy with Kanye West didn’t just come as a surprise to her legion of adoring fans — the socialite reality star was pretty shocked too. It turns out Kim faced some fertility issues similar to the ones that have left her younger sister Khloe childless.

Kardashian, 32, opened up the upcoming arrival of Baby Kimye with The Today Show’s Savannah Guthrie Tuesday:

“Khloe has been very open about her fertility issues and I think I was always really kind of quiet about mine and I have similar issues. And so it was a pleasant surprise when so many doctors were telling me one thing and then the opposite happens…So I think it’s just such a blessing knowing my circumstances.”

Kim, 32, explained she would be due in July, which might make her firstborn’s birthday coincide with her that of her sister Kourtney’s second child, Penelope, born last summer. The first child of Britain’s Duchess Catherine and Prince William is also due in July.

We’ve even heard reports that if Kim ‘n Kanye’s baby is a girl Kim intends to call her Kate, after the Duchess of Cambridge.

“She loves Kate and considers her own family ‘American royalty.’ The fact that she and Kate are due around the same time has her even more excited.”

Meanwhile, Khloe — who has been married to hoopstar Lamar Odom since 2009 — is struggling with her fertility battle and the fact that both her sisters have conceived so effortlessly and unintentionally. Apparently, Mrs. Odom’s struggle to fall pregnant is becoming increasingly painful.

“It’s so frustrating for Khloe because nobody can figure out what’s wrong. She feels so helpless! She’s Superwoman when it comes to kids and all she wants is one of her own,” a spywitness told Star magazine this month.
