Lohan’s ousted and outspoken father is delighted the scandal-bitten star has befriended Kardashian because he believes the socialite can save Lindsay from her party-hard lifestyle — despite the fact that Kim has been known to keep quite an active social calendar herself.

Michael is certain that the Keeping Up With The Kardashians hottie will lead LiLo away from — what he deems — a destructive path.

“Since the time I first met Kim two years ago in New York, I’ve thought she was a good influence on Lindsay,” Michael told RadarOnline on the eve of Lindsay’s 24th birthday last Friday. “Even back then, and Kim will tell you this, I told her that I wanted her to befriend Lindsay so that she could help steer her in the right direction. I mean, look at Kim and what she’s accomplished….”
