Jamie Lynn Spears didn’t find it necessary to inform her older sister that she is due to give birth in July 2008, but that didn’t stop former brother-in-law Kevin Federline from getting in on the family good. Brit’s ex-husband was informed of Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy on Monday while the pop star herself found out from an OK! Magazine article when the news hit the public on Tuesday.

“Kevin knew before Britney that Jamie Lynn is pregnant,” a Federline family insider tells Page Six. “In fact, Britney’s [somewhat estranged] mom Lynne, [who has become tight with Kevin in the wake of her troubles with her daughter and grandchildren], told Kevin about it on Monday, [December 17], because Lynne wanted Kevin to be prepared when Britney found out.”
