Keira Knightley has shot a commercial to raise awareness of domestic violence.

The ad is part of a new campaign by Women’s Aid to encourage victims of abuse to step forward.
In the ad the Pirates Of The Caribbean star, 24, plays an actress whose boyfriend abuses her behind closed doors.

Keira is seen being kicked in the stomach and hit in the face.

“Domestic violence kills two women every week but we rarely hear about it,” the actress says of her decision to appear in the campaign.

Keira’s domestic violence public service announcement airs tonight on television stations in the UK.
