Katy Perry Will Be Performing At The Super Bowl Halftime Show
According to NY Post’s Page Six, Katy Perry will be performing at Super Bowl XLIX for the Half time Show on February 1st.
Coldplay and Rihanna were also mentioned as possible candidates.
Perry has been showing a lot of football enthusiasm lately- at least on a college level. She appeared on ESPN’s “College GameDay” last weekend doting a hot pink and black furry jersey, telling Oklahoma qb Trevor Knight to “Call Me!” and partied with Ole Miss students.
” A deal is being hammered out for Katy Perry to play the Super Bowl,” an entertainer insider stated.
The NFL considers Perry to be a perfect artist to sing at the Super Bowl, because 1) the halftime show is sponsored by Pepsi who coincidentally helped promote Perry’s ‘Part of Me’ film 2) Perry has a bubble-gum pop brand that could certainly bring a better image to all the bad press the NFL has been having lately over domestic violence and questions regarding player safety 3) because her acts are family-friendly, they know there will be no Janet Jackson esque “wardrobe malfunctions” or MIA’s rude middle finger gesture and 4) two years ago Perry did amazing performing at the DirecTV’s Pre-Super Bowl party. Now it’s her time to shine on the big stage.
