Katy Perry Slams Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears? Singer Overheard Bad-Mouthing TV’s “Hannah Montana”
Pop princess Katy Perry — the same Katy Perry who disrobed in the video for her summer hit “California Gurls” — got awfully chatty when quizzed for her thoughts on Miley Cyrus’ questionable wardrobe.
A cackling Perry reportedly compared Cyrus to crooning trainwreck Britney Spears after spotting the 17-year-old singer/actress backstage at the MuchMusic Awards. Miley made a number of wardrobe changes as she hosted last month’s awards show live from Toronto; including one baring a startling resemblance to a nightie. But the chatter really began when Cyrus hit the stage to perform her single “Can’t Be Tamed,” channeling her inner Chola gangbanger, complete with booty shorts and bandana.
In short, Katy was not a fan.
A Canadian spywitness dishes to Life & Style’s Scene Queens column: “She looked to her friend and said, ‘Oh my God, poor girl.’ Katy said, ‘She’s Britney Spears all over again. It’s happening right before our eyes,’” claims an insider. “When her friend asked if she meant Lindsay Lohan, not Britney, Katy said, ‘No, she’s definitely headed the Britney route. It’s worse. Look at those outfits. It’s bad.’”
