Katy Perry and Rihanna have forged a new friendship following the “Umbrella” singer’s alleged altercation with boyfriend Chris Brown last month.

Katy, 24, contacted Rihanna after the beating incident in February and has quickly become a support system for the 21-year-old star, The Sun reports. We hear the girls are now even trying to rearrange their schedules so that they can take a Ladies Only trip to Puerto Rico this summer.

A tipster says: “Katy was there when Rihanna needed her the most and as terrible as the stuff with Brown is, at least one good thing has come of it. Both of them have had man troubles recently so they are enjoying having some girlie time.”
