I was a huge fan of Katie’s on Dawson’s Creek and enjoyed her as an actress–but, I didn’t care for the singing number she did on that show for a beauty contest or for the dance/singing routine she did on Eli Stone. She did a good job in this performance to try and support her charity and it was for a noble and worthy cause so for that she should be commended, but I do think acting is her strong suit and not her singing and dancing performances. It also didn’t bother me that it was pre-recorded–she is not a singing and dancing professional, so why not portray her in the best light possible without having to worry about nerves from having a live audience there.

Glad I’m not the only one who could see she was Lip-synching. Obviously the music was pre-recorded, her dancing wasn’t that great and she didn’t even know where the camera was at one point. Tho I think its great when stars come out for charities in this case she could have just done the preamble and let the performance to a real performer. Had they gotten someone off of Broadway it would have been way more amazing. I think maybe was bugged me the most was the interviewing pointing out the challenge of singing and dancing together when that wasn’t even done. Did anyone else see a mic on Katie? I didn’t. Someone else was right saying all she did was marry Tom Cruise, since he’s a 2nd rate actor in my opinion then I feel there was really nothing at all impressive about Katie coming out for this.

Obviously, many of you haven’t seen the original 1950s version of Garland’s performance (she didn’t dance much either). Google it and take a look. Katie’s performance was far better than Garland’s (I found it pretty “lack lustre”). Katie nailed it with just as much talent, more style and awesome gams!!!! Great job, Katie!!!!

Wow. Sounds like a lot of people are just jealous with the comments I’ve been reading.

Katie looked wonderful. Sounded great. Not a stellar voice but on key & very pleasant for the song being sung. The dance steps were reminisant (Spelling??) of the Judy Garland era which is what the routine was all about.

Good job Katie.

she did great,the singing was really good,not as much dancing as i would of liked but she did great.Tom didnt have anything to do with it ,why does eveyone have to keep bringing him up,you all know she is a real person right?she just gets paid for her job more then most..get over yourselves people quit being so critical

OMG! all you who say this was bad obviously have no talent and do not know what it takes to perform. The singing was great and the dancing was perfect in following the choreography!! Katie is great the person you all should be bitching about is Tom Cruise!!

That perfomance was terrible. She hardly danced and the singing was average. It was nice that she was promoting the charity but she could have just talked about it. Her performance made me appreciate the contestants who are truly talented dancers.
There was way too much hype about the performance which did not deliver.
