Katie Holmes Joins Cast of Broadway’s “Dead Accounts”

A newly-single Katie Holmes is set to hit Broadway once again. The soon-to-be former Mrs. Tom Cruise has been cast as Lorna in Theresa Rebeck’s latest production, Dead Accounts.

The five-character comedy — to be directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O’Brien — will open at the Music Box Theatre.
Dead Accounts centers on a son who returns to his family’s home in Cincinnati flush with money, which raises red flags for his sister, who is living with their elderly parents.

“Jack’s unexpected return throws his family into a frenzy and his sister Lorna needs answers. Is he coming home or running away? Where is his wife everyone hates? And how did he get all that money? Theresa Rebeck’s new comedy tackles the timely issues of corporate greed, small town values and whether or not your family will always welcome you back…with no questions asked.”

This will be Katie’s first Broadway role since her stage debut in the acclaimed 2008 production of All My Sons.
