Daytime hostess Katie Couric is getting married. Couric, 56, accepted a marriage proposal from John Molner, head of mergers and acquisitions at financial giant Brown Brothers Harriman, over the Labor Day weekend.
Molner, a native of Chicago, popped the question with a diamond ring at sunset on the beach in East Hampton, New York, People magazine said Tuesday.
Katie — mom to daughters Ellie, 21, and Carrie, 17, — was first wed to husband Jay Monahan, who lost his battle with colon cancer in 1998. In the years since, Couric hasn’t been shy about exploring the dating scene.
She was once romantically-linked to jazz trumpeter Chris Botti. Her romance with Brooks Perlin — a businessman she met at a cancer research fundraiser — ended in 2011.
