Grey’s Anatomy star Katherine Heigl has removed herself from this year Emmy race. Katherine cites Grey’s writers for not providing her with award-winning worthy material.

“I did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination and in an effort to maintain the integrity of the academy organization, I withdrew my name from contention,” K.H told the L.A. Times Envelope’s Tom O’Neil. “In addition, I did not want to potentially take away an opportunity from an actress who was given such materials.”
Katherine Heigl took home the 2007 Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series Emmy Award for her role as Dr. Isobel Stevens on the ABC medical drama.

She never mentions the writers just the material. Her storylines were not great this season and the press were very critical. If they don’t like what she is saying now they are being two faced. By doing the decent thing and removing herself for consideration she is being very honest. Good for Heigl.
