Former American Idol contestant Katharine McPhee has parted ways with her RCA record label, Billboard Magazine claims. I uinderstand she’s negotiating with another label, either A&M or Warner. I guess RCA wasn’t happy sharing her with the movies. Their statement said she “left to support her other entertainment ventures.”

It seems that McPhee never found her “voice” as an artist–was she r&b or pop?? I hope the carnage stops soon, though. Some of the idols are worth all the hype–Blake Lewis’s CD for example is stellar pop music and I’d hate to see him dropped.
