A “light and fluffy” interview between Jon & Kate Plus 8’s Kate Gosselin and Live With Regis & Kelly host Regis Philbin quickly became uncomfortable after the 74-year-old went off-script and asked whether Kate could see herself reconnecting with her estranged husband, Jon Gosselin, who has romanced at least three younger women in the six weeks since the couple announced their split, The New York Daily News reports.

“I can’t and won’t answer that,” Kate replied curtly during the chat, airing this Thursday. “I keep certain things private, and that’s one.”

Reg added, “I think you [and your husband] will get back together and live happily ever after. I think everything is going to work itself out — he’ll say he’s sorry, that he loves you and everything will be good.”

Kate was stunned speechless as the show cut to commercial.

wow…i’m thinking the same thing regis is thinking and i’m wondering if we can see it cause we’ve battled a few wars due to being older.
this is what i’m hoping cause the family will be intact and boy, do those kids deserve that!

As a mother of four small children 7,4,3, and 1, I too think they can work it out. My husband went thru a mid-life crisis last year and thought he wanted freedom. Thankfully my husband came to his senses and I thank the Lord everyday for giving me the strength to forgive. We are now expecting our 5th child and more commited then ever to being a “Forever Family”. It’s alot of work but it can be done. I continue to pray for Jon and Kate that they will remember their commitment and love that they once shared.

I think Regis needs to remember he is a talk show host and not a marriage counselor. Kate Gosslin has enough on her plate without someone who knows nothing about her marriage to play voyeur. I think Kate and Jon are so fundamentally different it will take a miracle from God for them to get their marriage together. I always wondered, as I watched the show, how much more Jon would take of Kate’s constant put-downs, sarcasim and desire to control every little thing. It will take a lot of changing on Kate’s part and forgiveness on Jon’s part.
