The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco, Julianne Hough of Footloose fame, singer Joe Jonas, and TV personalities Sharon Osbourne and Busy Philipps will announce the nominees for the 2012 People’s Choice Awards on Nov. 8.
The recently-engaged Cuoco has been tipped to host the annual fan-voted prizegiving, which will take place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Jan. 11, CBS has announced. Awards will be presented to recipients representing music, movie, and television categories — as determined by the votes of the public.
The show’s executive producer, Mark Burnett, is “thrilled” to have Kaley take over hosting duties from rapper/actress Queen Latifah, who hosted the last two Choice ceremonies. He was especially impressed with the blonde’s performance as frontwoman of the Teen Choice Awards in August.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kaley as the new host of the People’s Choice Awards. She’s been making people laugh on top-rated comedy series for the last decade, first with ’8 Simple Rules’ and now with ‘The Big Bang Theory,’ Thursday’s No. 1 show. I’m looking forward to working with her on a fun-filled, comedy-packed show in January.”
