It’s back to pop for singer-turned-actor Justin Timberlake.

The newlywed announced via Twitter Thursday that he’s putting the finishing touches on a new album — his first since the 2006 blockbuster FutureSexLoveSounds.

“To whom it may concern . . . I think I’m READY!” Timberlake tweeted, alongside a link to a video on his website, in which he explains his decision to return to music.

“Someone asked me the other day… ‘So are you just done with music?’ [Music] means more to me than anybody else in the world. I’ve only done two albums in the past decade. What does the next decade mean to me? I don’t want to put anything out that is… something I don’t love. You just don’t get that every day. You have to wait for it…I’m ready.”

Justin — who married actress Jessica Biel in November — released his first solo album, Justified, in 2002. But he’s spent the past several years cultivating his place as a full-fledged Hollywood thespian. JT won rave reviews for his work in 2009′s Facebook drama The Social Network.

We hear Timberlake is nearly done with the new album. A release date has not been announced.

So what can we expect from Justin’s next showing? Well, a collaboration with GQ’s Sexiest Woman of the Century sounds pretty certain. The “SexyBack” singer has been tapped to combine pop powers with Beyonce for one highly anticipated collaboration.

The diva told GQ this week:

“I’ve been working with Pharrell and Timbaland and Justin Timberlake and Dream. We all started in the ’90s, when R&B was the most important genre, and we all kind of want that back: the feeling that music gave us.”

The last time Mr. JT and Queen Bey collaborated was for the “Single Ladies” parody on Saturday Night Live four years ago.
