BET — the folks that brought you Hot Ghetto Mess (‘Nuff Said) — is reportedly eyeing a docu-soap (Read: Reality show) chronicling bruisin’ crooner Chris Brown’s life after incarceration.
Brown, 25, spent much of the past six months behind bars after he was kicked out of a court-ordered rehab program for disorderly conduct. The hitmaker spent his birthday in a holding cell as authorities in Los Angeles tried to reach a deal with Chris’ attorneys. It all stemmed from the star’s multiple probation violations over his infamous 2009 brawl with Rihanna. His most noted (alleged) violation came during that fateful encounter with a Washington, DC reveller that turned violent. Just this week, C.B. rejected a plea deal to avoid additional jail time in that assault case.
Let BET tell it: Chris’ storied saga is the stuff Must-See Reality TV is made of. During a focus group held in California’s San Fernando Valley Tuesday, participants were asked if they would be interested in watching a show shadowing the “Fine China” singer as he struggles to overcome his well-documented substance abuse/anger management issues. The interest, apparently, was overwhelming enough to catch BET’s attention. The network is said to be in talks with several production companies in hopes of bringing the proposed program to fruition.
