A rep for Dancing With The Stars pro Julianne Hough has confirmed that the rising country music starlet will appear alongside Gossip Girl actor Chace Crawford in next summer’s motion picture remake of Footloose — “if her schedule permits.”

Julianne has been tapped for the role of feisty preacher’s daughter Ariel Moore in the remake of the 1984 dance flick. The original film starred Kevin Bacon as a big-city kid who moves to a small town where dancing has been banned by an outspoken local minister, played by John Lithgow.

Footloose — directed by High School Musical lensman Kenny Ortega — expected to begin filming in March 2010 for a July 2010 theatrical release.
