Jordin Sparks Hip Injury Sidelines “In The Heights” Performances

Jordin Sparks’ Broadway dreams have come to a temporary halt after the American Idol winner injured her hip in a fall onstage on Saturday, BroadwayWorld.com reports.
Sparks followed in the footsteps of a many an ex-Idol an made her debut on the New York stage in the Tony-winning producion In The Heights earlier this month. The star is winning rave reviews for breathing life into troubled college student Nina Rosado in the Latin-flavored stageshow. However, after taking a nasty fall during an Aug. 28 show, Jordin was forced to pull out of performances on Sunday and Monday.
The “No Air” singer — who battled vocal nodules in 2008 — is expected to make a full recovery. In fact, Jordin is expected to return to the stage just in time for Thursday evening’s show.
Sparks will play a limited 12-week engagement through Nov. 14.
