“Jon & Kate Plus 8″ Ratings Plummeting
Viewers just aren’t that into Jon, Kate, and their 8. Somehow a woman with a bad haircut wearing down her husband’s will to live just doesn’t have the same appeal as a rerun of Law & Order.
Jon & Kate Plus 8, the TLC series about a troubled couple raising their 8 children — 9-year-old twins and 5-year-old sextuplets — is beginning to lose steam.
The show’s ratings have plummeted in the weeks since the May 25 season 5 premiere bought in a whopping 9.8 million viewers — setting the record for TLC’s largest audience ever. However, Monday night’s episode, which included a visit from the stars of TLC’s American Chopper, saw a drop of more than a million viewers from the previous week, attracting only 2.9 million viewers.
