In a chat with TODAY’s Meredith Vieira on Monday, reality octomom Kate Gosselin reveals that her estranged husband Jon — who recently halted production on the family’s TLC reality series — drained their joint account of $230,000, leaving her with just $1,000 to care for the couple’s eight children.

Litigation lawyer Mark Singer accuses Jon Gosselin of withdrawing the funds despite a court order stipulating neither party could touch the money without the other’s consent.

“When you’ve left your children and their mother without the funds to pay for the roof over their head, it’s not acceptable,” the 34-year-old mother said this morning.

“I need that money to provide for them. We were in the position after our sextuplets were born that we could not pay our bills,” she continued. “We did the show to provide a better life for them. Never did I think I’d be back in the same position… I can’t sleep at night. I can’t pay my bills.”
