Jon Gosselin is broke, according to reports.

The ex-reality show patriarch’s checking account is running on empty, leaving him unable to cover his legal bills, Fox411.com says.

“Jon’s in pretty serious financial trouble because his plan for making money was shut down in court,” an insider spilled this week.

On Oct. 13, a judge ordered Jon to return $180,000 he had withdrawn from the joint account he shared with his estranged wife and former Jon & Kate Plus 8 co-star, Kate Gosselin. Jon’s finances were further crippled last week, when TLC successfully blocked Gosselin, 32, from making any profitable public appearances. The financial blows have called the embattled OctoDad’s once comfortable lifestyle to fall by the wayside.

“He has warned his lawyers that he can’t pay them and if he doesn’t succeed against TLC, he will have no funds. He’s even gone so far as to say that if they want to be paid, they will have to sue him.”
