JoJo College — Northeastern University (Boston)

JoJo — who skyrocketed to fame with the 2004 breakup anthem “Leave (Get Out)” at the age of 13 — has enrolled in college.
The singer, now 17, will attend Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts in the fall, just as she prepares to release a new album.
Writing on her MySpace Blog this week, JoJo says: “After much consideration and research, I have decided that Northeastern University is the place for me! In the past week I’ve taken tours and met with students and professors of other Boston based schools, and now that the time to commit has come, I’m happy with the idea of being a student at Northeastern. They have a wonderful cultural anthropology program (which is what I am interested in going for) as well as a dual major option in International Affairs/ Anthropology. I’m so excited!”
She added, “My long term goal is to gain a doctorate…. but I gotta take it ONE step at a time!”
JoJo insists she won’t let her studies keep her from singing.
“I am not going to put my career on hold…..”
In 2008, JoJo revealed that she turned down the part of Miley Stewart on Disney’s Hannah Montana — a role that catapulted Miley Cyrus to teen superstardom. JoJo’s third album, All I Want Is Everything, is set for release later this year.
