Johnny Depp and his longtime partner, singer/model Vanessa Paradis, are set to play lovers in a new film.
The couple has been together for over a decade and are parents to two young children, Lily-Rose and Jack. Now the real-life lovers are teaming up on the big screen — they’ve both signed on to star in The American Dream, a romantic biopic scheduled for release next year.
“Vanessa plays the French feminist Simone de Beauvoir and I play her lover Nelson Algren, who is real macho,” Johnny explains.
Director Lasse Hallstrom — who directed Depp in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape –will direct the two in the story of the 20th century French writer and philosopher — famous for her treatise The Second Sex — and her American writer lover.
