Johnny Depp has reportedly inked a massive $33.6 million deal to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the fourth installment of Disney’s smash Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise.

Industry informants say studio bosses were so determined to get Depp back on board for 2011′s Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, they offered the Oscar-nominated actor a minimum $33.6 million pay deal – with additional cash incentives from ticket sales, according to London’s The Sun.

Depp has proved popular in his role as the eccentric lover of the high seas character. The first three films have garnered more than $2.5 billion at the international box office.
