John McCain Katie Couric Campaign Ad Controversy

Have we learned nothing from the Hilton/Spears/Obama “Celebrity” ad fallout?
John McCain has made a habit of using music and celebrity images without permission in a number of ads throughout his presidential campaign-but it now seems that the Arizona senator has graduated to the unauthorized use of network newscasters instead.
Katie Couric is P’Oed that McCain used her likenesss in a new campaign ad. The Republican is accused of lifting a portion of a news segment in which the CBS Evening News anchor was addressing sexism in the 2008 Presidential campaign.
CBS responded to the campaign ad in a curt press release late Wednesday: “CBS News does not endorse any candidate in the Presidential race. Any use of CBS personnel in political advertising that suggests the contrary is misleading.”
The ad has been removed from YouTube.
