John Mayer Variety Show “In Development,” CBS Says
John Mayer’s long-rumored variety show will debut on the small screen later this year, CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler announced at the network’s TCA on Wednesday.
The network does not have an air date for the proposed show, but plans to start shooting sometime this season.
“We’re just going to shoot the pilot… and make the decision with that,” Nina explained. “It’s a pilot special for a series.”
“We didn’t reach out to him. It was his idea,” she said. “He loves it and he’s a really funny guy. He’s really smart… [he] has a great sense of humor about himself.”

Hell yes. What most people don’t seem to realize is that he is one of the only artists who is keeping a great genre of music alive while everyone else is listening to garbage like Lil-Wayne and T-Pain. I will give his show a change based entirely on that fact. From what I understand he will be introducing new musicians on the show which will hopefully help save the music industry from the dark hole that its drove itself into to.
