Following rumors that former girlfriend Jennifer Aniston dumped him over his inability to tear himself away from his Twitter.com account, John has gone on record blasting the on the social networking micro-blog site.

“It’s inherently silly and it’s inherently dumb,” John told Eonline.com at the One Splendid Evening benefit for the VH1 Save the Music Foundation aboard the Carnival Splendor cruise ship in San Pedro last night. “If you really think that Twitter is the pathway to spiritual enlightenment, well… It’s one step away from sending pictures of your poop.”
