Presidential hopeful John Edwards is embroiled in a love child scandal with a former employee for his campaign, The National Enquirer spies have learned. John is accused of knocking up six-months-pregnant Rielle Hunter, a video segment producer who worked on his campaign last year. The forty-three year-old has told close friends that she’s pregnant with the Democrat’s child. John’s wife, Elizabeth, is presently fighting for her life against incurable breast cancer.

“Rielle has said from the beginning that the baby is John’s, but she appears willing to do whatever they want her to do to protect his candidacy,” a friend gushed to The Enquirer.

“I think what’s taking place is simply a cover-up by Edwards’ campaign.”

Rielle denies any claims that she has been fingering Edward’s as her baby’s daddy:

“This has no relationship to nor does it involve John Edwards in any way. Andrew Young is the father of my unborn child,” said a lawyer for Hunter.
