Nicole Richie and Joel Madden don’t want to know the sex of their unborn baby.

Despite rumors that the 27-year-old socialite is having a boy, Nicole says she and her partner want to be surprised when they welcome their new bundle of joy in August.

“We want the surprise,” Nicole told Larry King last Thursday. “What is there really to plan? I’ll get the clothes after.”

Nicole and Joel, 30, are already parents to 16-month-old daughter Harlow.
