Nicole Richie and Joel Madden will tie the knot before the birth of their second child, In Touch Weekly insiders report.

The couple, who already have a one-year-old daughter, Harlow, want to make things official now that their young family is expanding.

“They are old-fashioned in some ways,” says a source. “Now their second baby is coming, they both want to make it legal.”

The socialite recently praised her longtime lover as a “superdad”. Nicole insists Joel is the best father she has ever seen.

“When you’re parents you have to make every decision together, so you become a team. I can wholeheartedly say that he’s the best dad I’ve ever seen. He’s as good as my dad Lionel. Joel and my dad are really close. Joel is superdad.”
