Tony Romo has resigned himself to a purely sexually relationship with “girlfriend” Jessica Simpson after the Dallas Cowboys quarterback found himself unable to deal with Jess’ meddling pop, Joe Simpson.

Tony has been particularly put off by Joe’s loose lips when it comes to chatting with the paps, an OK! Magazine spy swears. Romo is convinced it is Joe who leaked the news of his trip to Mexico with Jessica just before an NFL Playoff game back in February. Dallas lost the game, and a shot at the Super Bowl. Devout Cowboys fans tore the Simpsons to shreds.

Friends say the whole situation destroyed any hope Tony may have had of ever taking Jessica seriously. “Tony says they are just friends with benefits,” says the source. “The sex is good, but he doesn’t see it going anywhere.”
