Joan Rivers has a mouth like a machine gun and a tongue that as sharp as a razor. But she may have met her match in no-holds barred Girls creator Lena Dunham.
Ole Tupperware Face Joanie’s never been above fat-shaming (One word: Adele) and she used some of her best quips when cutting Lena down to size over her weight and body-positive philosophy during an interview with the equally controversial Howard Stern on Wednesday.
If you ask Joan (of course, no one did, but she’ll tell you anyway), Lena outed herself as hypocrite when she posed in a heavily-airbrushed photo spread for the February issue of Vogue while continuing to champion the self acceptance campaign.
“If you look the way you look, Lena, and that’s fine and you’re funny, don’t say it’s OK that other girls can look like this…Try to look better,” Joan ranted, as Howard and co-host Robin Quivers fruitlessly tried to defend Lena.
Stern would seem an interesting bedfellow for Lena. After all, we’re talking about the same guy who once referred to Dunham as “The Fat Little Girl Who Looks Like Jonah Hill and Keeps Taking Her Clothes Off.” Howie, it seems, gained new respect for the always ballsy Dunham when she called in and defended herself.
