Rock-n-roll legend Joan Jett has praised actress Kristen Stewart’s portrayal of her in the upcoming film The Runaways.
The Twilight starlet spent the summer playing Jett for a movie about the ’70s all-girl rock group The Runaways. The film, loosely based on Runaways singer Cherie Currie’s 1989 memoir, Neon Angel, is expected to hit the silver screen sometime next year.
For the first time, Joan Jett reveals what she thought of 19-year-old Kristen’s performance.
“Kristen was so into it, into the whole vibe of doing this,” Jett remarks in the new issue of Billboard Magazine. “I think she felt a weight and a responsibility to interpret it correctly. She was really serious about it and was watching me and asking me all sorts of questions, from speech aspects to watching my body language, watching where I stood, watching my guitar playing. She really worked hard to get it right.”
