Jimmy Fallon opens up about his new daughter
Comedian and late-night host, Jimmy Fallon, surprised fans and viewers when he announced the birth of his first daughter, Winnie.
Now, Jimmie is opening up about his family expansion and fatherhood. “My wife and I had been trying for a while to have a baby, and we tried a bunch of things. Anyone who’s tried will know, it’s just awful,” Fallon, 38, told Savannah Guthrie on the “Today” show Tuesday. “We tried before, and we told people, and then it didn’t happen, and it’s really depressing,” Fallon said. “So this time, we said we’re not going to tell anybody. It would just be more fun if it’s private between me and my wife, and then we get to introduce her to everybody.”
Jimmy says that Winnie turns him to “mush.”
Fallon also opened up about Winnie’s name saying, “My wife and I got engaged in New Hampshire at this lake house that her family’s had forever on Lake Winnipesaukee. We went there every summer as we were dating. So we thought, Winnie, and I love Winnie. … She’s a ‘win’ for us. It’s a big win for us.”
