Jimmy Fallon “Late Night” Online Debut

Comedian Jimmy Fallon will debut as the new host of NBC’s late-night chatfest, Late Night, on the World Wide Web.

The online shows will before Jimmy takes over for current Late Night host Conan O’Brien, who will replace Jay Leno on The Tonight Show, in the Spring of 2009 takeover.

NBC execs are hoping the early web premiere will help Jimmy work the kinks out before his routine goes live.

“Conan needed time to find his show,” says Lorne Michaels, the show’s executive producer. “I think this will help Jimmy to do that.”
