We heard Jessica Simpson hit up hot nightclub The Box here in New York two nights in a row this week and was shocked both times by the amount of her bill. The failing actress was so short on singles, in fact, that she skipped out on her bill on Wednesday night!

A source inside the club says: “Last night, she just walked out on her bill without paying!”

A Jess pal denies the report:

“She didn’t skip out on the bill. Her pal signed the tab [for one bottle of Grey Goose] but mistakenly took the slip with the signature. We called the club and fixed everything,” the insider tells the New York Daily News.

Earlier this week, it was announced that Jessica’s box office bomber ‘Blonde Ambition’ will be sold exclusively on home shopping network QVC.
