Jessica Simpson Sells Half Of Her Fashion Empire; Is Still Richer Than You

Jessica Simpson kicked off her career as a singer but has amassed quite the fortune as a fashion mogul. With her Jessica Simpson Collection, the blonde beauty has become very wealthy, raking in a billion dollars in sales annually since 2005.

Now, the singer turned fashion designer has brokered an insane deal, selling off a fifty percent stake in her company to Sequential Brands Group, Inc. Her eponymous brand was previously managed by the Camuto Group and was quite lucrative for someone who was consistently referred to as an airhead in the media. She will be quite the rich airhead then, no?

In a statement, she revealed, “I am extremely honored to partner with Sequential Brands Group to continue the growth and integrity of the Jessica Simpson Collection. Working together with the powerful management team at Sequential and with all of our trusted retailers and licensees, including Camuto Group, there is no limit to our success.”

Despite the business deal that will net her gazillions of dollars, she will still be involved in the company throughout the transition. She added, “I’m as committed as I was ten years ago. Here’s to the next billion.”

Simpson has also been in the tabloid news lately, thanks to a story published by In Touch Weekly claiming that her family was urging her to go to rehab for an addiction to Adderall. A source revealed to the publication that Simpson was “taking substances [like Adderall] to help her lose weight. It’s gotten out of control. They’re afraid. Her family knows she should be in rehab.”

After a supposed intervention, the magazine said, “It turned into a heated fight. Ashlee really called her out and told her she needed to get help, but Jessica freaked and ran out in tears. Now everyone’s on pins and needles about what to do. Now all the tension and responsibility combined with the Adderall and alcohol have turned her into a mess.”

Jessica Simpson’s people have already thrown cold water on the reports…shocking, we know.
