Jessica Simpson is set to make some mayjuh Mommy Money. The singer-turned-stylista has reportedly sold the first pictures of her newborn daughter to People magazine for $800,000.
Simpson welcomed baby Maxwell Drew with fiance Eric Johnson on May 1. And word ’round the blogosphere are said to have agreed to a deal with the celebrity weekly to show off the first snapshots of their little girl to the world
People is notorious for forking over fistfuls of cash to celebrities to pose with their new babies. The popular publication reportedly splashed out $6 million for pictures of Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony’s twins, Max and Emme, in February 2008.
That same year People editors allegedly paid Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie $11 million for an exclusive peek at their twins Knox and Vivienne. The proceeds were donated to charity.
But back to Jessica: Did we forget to mention that she reportedly signed a massive Weight Watchers deal to lose the baby weight and has plans to add a collection of baby clothing to her Jessica Simpson fashion/accessories empire?
Weight Watchers is said to be shelling out $4m to have Simpson as their new spokesperson. There’s also talk of to sell diaper rash cream and disposable nappies.
Pals say Simpson has never been so happy personally and career-wise:
“The great thing about Jessica is she’s under no illusions that she put on way too much weight during her pregnancy. She realises that she has a huge task ahead of her. After years of sitting in no-man’s land, where they only thing going on was her fluctuating weight and affairs with losers like John Mayer, she’s back on top.”
