Jessica Simpson Reality Show Budget Leaves VH1 Miffed
The price of beauty is high when you’re Jessica Simpson. The busty blonde is being toted as the “Next Jennifer Lopez” by executives at VH1, thanks to the budget for her new unscripted series.
The newly-single star is scheduled to begin shooting The Price of Beauty next week. The weekly show will see Jess travel to seven countries examining exotic beauty regimens. However, Jessica’s relationship at her new network home is off to a rocky star because VH1 is unhappy with the amount of dough they’re having to shell out just to keep her happy.
“To get her camera-ready each episode will cost $25,000,” says an insider. “She insists on using her own hair, makeup and fashion stylists, who are more expensive than J.Lo’s.”

I don’t understand why vh1 is taking a chance on Jessica. Afterall, her country lable dropped her because of poor performances and a mediocre album that did not sell. Vh1 stands to lose money on Jessica and they should have been aware of that. From what I hear, Vh1 signed a contract stating that Jessica is going to get what she wants. VH1 doesn’t have alot of smart people working for them and they will learn their lesson as far as the Simpsons are concerned. Afterall, they picked up a reality show about beauty that has been done to death. Every network has done a beauty show. I think people will tune into the first show out of curiosity, but that is it. Especially since there are far more better shows out there.
