Move over, Perez Hilton, Jessica Simpson is still holding a torch for John Mayer. The National Enquirer claims the bubbly blonde is still in love with her former boyfriend despite her in on-going relationship with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.

“Jess is still in love with John, and it’s been keeping her from taking the next step with Tony,” a spy says. “Tony is oblivious to how strong a hold John has over Jess.”

“She misses John’s wordliness, his sharp sense of humor and his refinement. Jess really adores that…”

Jessica is also rumored to be unhappy with her lack of connection with boyfriend Tony, who she complains is “too macho:”

“He lives like an overgrown frat boy,” The Enquirer’s insider reveals. “Jess loves to talk about fashion and style, but Tony’s eyes glaze over when she does.”

Jess’ friends hope she’ll sack her romance with Romo before her feelings for John destroy another marriage:

If she ends up getting engaged-or married to him, it’s doomed to fail because of her feelings for John.
